ETIC Engineering Inc. is seeking a self motivated, enthusiastic individual for a Project Geologist position at our Pleasant Hill location. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Planning site investigation activities, including obtaining bids, scheduling/contracting subcontractors, preparing permits, and performing pre-field preparation.
  • Performing and supervising site assessment activities including site safety meetings, overseeing geophysical surveys and hole clearing activities, and oversight of drilling operations.
  • Proficient at logging soil using the USCS classification method.
  • Prepare work plans, corrective action plans, and complex investigation reports with tables, figures, geologic cross sections, and supporting data.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed. 

Successful Candidates Should Have:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Geology or other earth science field.
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant environmental and/or remediation experience required.
  • A strong background pertaining to environmental site investigations, groundwater monitoring, groundwater/soil sampling, assessment, characterization, and data quality review/data evaluation.
  • Proficiency in all aspects of subsurface investigations including drilling, borehole logging, sampling, and feasibility testing.
  • Working knowledge and experience with drilling oversight of hollow-stem auger, sonic drilling, air rotary, and direct-push technology.
  • Experience with hydro-geologic modeling, remedial design, engineering, and implementation a plus.
  • A diverse environmental project background that may include RCRA, CERCLA, Industrial, Energy, and other Federal, State, and Municipal government projects.
  • Storm water experience and QSP certification a plus.
  • On track for Professional Registration (P.G.) a plus.
  • Effective oral and written communications skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills, sound decision making and problem solving abilities.
  • Detail oriented with strong organization skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at a time.
  • Proven ability to perform in a high volume, time sensitive/deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to work and contribute to a team environment.
  • Proficient with computer applications including MS Office Suite.
  • Willing to travel within the state of California.
  • Must meet company defined, pre-employment alcohol/drug screen.
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.

 This position is located in Northern California and there are no relocation benefits included.
